New Features for major Upgrade.

Postby bhagemann » Sat Jun 12, 2010 11:56 pm

Hi... any updates on the 'major upgrade'? If development has stalled, is there at least a beta where it last got left off? I still am hoping to make a few changes to this but would love to be able to start with whatever progress has been made since the last release. Mostly just curious if this is still being developed.

thanks!

Hi,

We've changed development team and are now looking at the upgrade.
We do have a module version ready. It's the same thing but now available in module positions.
What we can do quite easily, I think, is add more parameters to control what columns are displayed including whether to display ID3 tag or file name and display the download button.
Allowing 1 mp3 to display by just using a reference to the filename is fine.
What I don't think is possible is forcing the download. This exposes you to hackers by allowing them to change the filename and download any file on your site.
I don't see why not though. It's normally a feature you find in a component but I don't see why it can't work here.
The plugin will stay as a free download.
So will the module, once it's available.

I agree with this:
Download button should start downloading upon click;
(currently opens file to play in new window

It confuses my users so much to have to open a new window then find the "Save AS" or "Save Target As' or "Save Linked File As" - depending on their browser... Having Download just download would be great!

I would also love to see a way to display a "newly added" feature for newly added songs. And like someone else suggested - having a way to link specific songs with other files such as pdf's or text files - I would like to be able to attach the lyric sheets and/or sheet music for each song instead of forcing people to go to different pages to see these...

Thanks so much for all you're doing!

Thanks for creating the awesome plugin MP3 browser. I just missed 2 things:

1 - Option to start first song automatically.

2- Go automatically to the next song and start playing it, thus working as an automatic playlist from folder files.

There is a plugin that does what I'm saying:

Demo here:

The main difference with other plugins is that you have to create playlists manually. MP3 has the potential to become an automatic playlist from folder files. It's so easy this way!

With these two options in place your plugin will be the perfect one for most people, I believe.

Thanks!

Here is modification of Your plugin http://joomlaforum.ru/index.php/topic,117887.0.html

It can:
1) Playing only one mp3-file.
2) Search files in folder and subfolders.
3) It have volume control.
4) Corrected error: when there was "&"-symbol in file-name it is downloading now.
5) Adding russian interface.
6) The plugin can installed above older versions.

Sorry for my English.

And here is pro-modification of Your plugin:

http://napalkoff.ru/index.php?option=co ... icle&id=72

It is using another flash-player.

It can:

1) Stop or pause the song when user selects another.
2) Show link for downloading from another folder, not folder for playing.
3) You may change all css-styles and images of player.
4) When the song is ending, next playing.
5) You may set sorting type of columns (ascending or descending), for example:{music_pro sort=album,title,artist,name,rating,down}{/music_pro}.
6) It has rating!
7) It has download counts.

English and Russiang are supported.
